Well today I was thinking about technology in the Uintah Basin. Is it lacking, falling behind, out of date? My opinion: Yes. You find me a website, hotel, web design firms, etc. that uses technology and it is just enough to get by and just work in the Basin.

Businesses in the Basin I'm sure will soon get caught up with all the technology buzz such as Twitter, Facebook, and all the hundreds of social outlets there are. They will all ask one question: "Where was I?" Well they were probably to busy with there own business to even pay attention to the rest of the world. They see their kids on Facebook or Myspace and say "Kids get off their its just a waste of time!" When in all reality... they could be making money from other people's kids on Facebook or Myspace!

Websites in the Basin appear to be non-existent or only the "elite" "wealthy" are online. Why? Businesses do not know where to go to get a website and think it will cost more than it is worth. Wrong! The web just opened your business to potential customers that want to hear more from you without even talking to you. Not only that, but do you sell merchandise, services, etc.? Well welcome to eCommerce! 400 million internet users at your disposal. Internet, Facebook, and Twitter a kid thing now?
